MULLED WINE



I have finally found my perfect recipe for mulled wine. 

In a sauce pan throw in;
2 cups of red wine (500ml)
1 cup of water (125ml)
4 heaped teaspoons brown sugar
2 slices orange
4 whole cloves
1 stick of cinnamon broken up
2 chai teabags

Bring to the boil slowly and turn off and let it steep for 10 minutes.
Strain through a sieve and reheat as needed.
Serve in a heat proof glass with a slice of orange, Enjoy.  mmmmm
This is what the tourists use - vin chaud teabags, but I brought chai tea with me from SA and it's much better  - spicier.  You can leave the teabags out alltogether and add a couple of star anise.
